Today I had the opportunity to join a meeting of the audit committee from Grupo EcoRodovias and visit the operation center from Ecovias, which is the road that, undoubtedly, I have used the most my whole life (it takes the “paulistas” to the beach!).
Knowing more about the business and its teams makes my work as a director more fruitful and meaningful. But it is even better when the business is such an important road to the State of São Paulo, to Brazil’s GDP and is located in a marvelous piece of the Atlantic Forest.
Today was one of those days that make me believe that not only it is feasible to bring sustainability matters to the decision table, but it is a wise decision to ensure generation of value to the company, to support its transition to low carbon, bio and circular economy, to ensure survival in the long run and to generate value to its shareholders.
